Sts. Martha, Mary, and Lazarus

Patron Saint of Cooks

Martha, Mary, and Lazarus were siblings from Bethany we hear about in the Gospels. They were close friends of Jesus that Jesus frequently came to visit, not to preach, but as a guest. We hear the story of Martha and Mary when Martha was busy preparing the house for Jesus whereas Mary was listening and learning from the words of the Messiah. We also hear of their great trust in Jesus when they call on Him when Lazarus dies, and Jesus then raises Lazarus from the dead. May Martha and Mary's early trust in Jesus be an example for all of us.
