St. Pantaleon
St. Pantaleon was a third-century saint who became the physician to the emperor. He was raised Christian by his mother but stopped practicing his faith because it was not allowed in the Roman Empire. However, he eventually returned to his Christian upbringing. Pantaleon continued his physician work because he knew how important it was even though being a public figure put his own life at risk. He was killed for being a Christian in 305. Today, he is one of the Fourteen Holy Helpers invoked during challenging times, especially times of disease. He is known as the Holy Helper who is the patron of physicians and midwives.
