St. Francis de Sales

Patron Saint of Writers and Journalists

St. Francis de Sales was a lawyer turned priest who defended the truths of Catholicism in Geneva after the Reformation. He is well known for teaching about the call to holiness, especially for the laity. He is also known for his works “The Introduction to the Devout Life” and “A Treatise on the Love of God,” both of which still inspire Catholics today. Francis de Sales also helped Jane Frances de Chantal, who would later become a saint, found the Sisters of the Visitation. "Do not desire to be what you are; desire to be very well what you are." -St. Francis de Sales
