St. Faustina
Patron Saint of Mercy
Divine Mercy Sunday (celebrated on the Sunday after Easter Sunday) is linked with St. Faustina and her writings on mercy. Throughout her life in 20th century Poland, St. Faustina conversed with Jesus and shared these conversations in a book titled Diary: Divine Mercy in My Soul. St. Faustina’s devotion to mercy helped spread the Divine Mercy Chaplet as well as the divine mercy prayer which many people recite every day at 3:00pm. Together with her confessor, Bl. Michael Sopoćko, St. Faustina created one of the most famous images of divine mercy which is still venerated today.
