From his time reading the Bible, he decided he wanted to share the Good News as a missionary. He traveled from his native Ireland to Frankish Gaul, the Alps, and Italy throughout his life to build monasteries. In addition to founding many monasteries, St. Columban fought against demoralized courts heresies like Arianism.
