Our Lady of Lourdes

Our Lady of Lourdes was a Marian apparition that occurred in Lourdes, France in 1858. Mary appeared to a 14 year old girl, St. Bernadette Soubirous. Bernadette’s faith was so strong that she continued to visit the site even when her parents were unsure about the apparitions. In 1862, Church authorities confirmed the authenticity of the apparitions. The apparitions at Lourdes revitalized the faith of millions of people, and continues to do so today. The Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes became worldwide in 1907. “I do not promise to make you happy in this world but in the other.”- Our Lady of Lourdes to Bernadette
