Most Sacred Heart of Jesus
On the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus we are called to reflect on the love that God has for us. Many saints have had a devotion to the wounded heart of Jesus, writing reflections on Jesus’ love. The devotion was popularized by St. Mary Margaret Alacoque in the 1600s, including her image of the Sacred Heart and the 12 promises of the Sacred Heart. Today let us focus on the Sacred Heart, and not only see a heart with the wounds of Jesus’ suffering and death, but see His heart consumed with love for us.
“In the Sacred Heart every treasure of wisdom and knowledge is hidden. In that Divine Heart beats God’s infinite love for everyone, for each one of us individually.” -St. John Paul II
