Bl. Sandra Sabattini

Patron of Youth

Bl. Sandra Sabbatini was born in 1961 in Italy. In her youth, she was involved in the youth groups at her Church and served those with disabilities in her community. After completing high school, she served in clinics for drug addicts throughout Italy. During this time, she realized she was being called to work in medical missions in Africa, so she decided to go to medical school. In 1984, at just twenty-two years old, while still attending medical school, Sandra was hit by a car and her life was cut short. She is known for her life of service and her commitment to serving others throughout her whole life. Additionally, she was engaged to be married at the time of her death. She is one of the few blesseds and saints in the Church to be engaged at the time of their death, and many people in the Church have informally looked to her as a patron of engaged couples.
