Bl. Joseph Jankowski

Bl. Joseph Jankowski was a Polish Pallottine priest who was martyred at Auschwitz Concentration Camp during the Second World War. He made his consecration to the Pallottines in 1931, and was ordained in 1936. After the Nazi invasion of Poland, he was named the Secretary of the Children's Aid Committee where he clandestinely ministered aid to children in Poland. He was eventually arrested with other priests by the Gestapo and sent to Auschwitz. There, Father Jankowski was tortured and killed for his active Catholic ministry to other prisoners.
