Transfiguration of Jesus
The Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord celebrates the glorification of Jesus as recorded in the Synoptic Gospels. Jesus, accompanied by his apostles Peter, James, and John, shines bright in white, flanked by the prophets Elijah and Moses. A voice from above says, “This is My Son, My Chosen One; listen to Him!” (Luke 9:35). The Transfiguration is a pivotal moment where Jesus’s identity as Son of God and Messiah is validated.
