Sts. Cosmas and Damian

Patron Saints of Chemistry, Pharmacists, Physicians, and Barbers

Saints Cosmas and Damian were martyrs in the early Church, suffering persecution under the Emperor Diocletian in the third century. They were doctors who, despite being arrested and tortured, always remained true to the Faith. They are patron saints of physicians and chemists, and they are named in the Roman Canon, commonly known as Eucharistic Prayer 1.
