St. Elizabeth of the Trinity

Patron Saint of Sick People and Loss of Parents

St. Elizabeth of the Trinity was a Discalced Carmelite who lived in France from 1880 to 1906. During her lifetime she was known for her mysticism and spiritual writings. Many of her writings focused on the challenges she faced in her own vocation as well as deep spiritual insights into the Carmelite charism. Her many difficult health conditions also moved her to write about the spirituality of suffering. Her life was cut short when she was only twenty-six years old by Addison's disease, but many of her writings still inspire Catholics today.
