St. Brigid of Ireland was born around the year 450, and is one of Ireland’s patron saints. Despite offers of marriage, she became a nun, and is credited with the organization of consecrated religious life for the women of Ireland. She is the patroness of midwives, newborn babies, and Irish Nuns.
