Immaculate Heart of Mary

The image of the Immaculate Heart of Mary illustrates Mary’s burning love for God and her desire to bring souls to her Son. Her heart is pierced, as prophesied by Simeon, in union with Christ. Her heart is an example of what our hearts should look like, on fire with love for God. The feast is celebrated on the third Saturday after Pentecost, which is the day after the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

“From Mary we learn to love Christ, her Son and the Son of God…. Learn from her to be always faithful, to trust that God’s Word to you will be fulfilled, and that nothing is impossible with God.” -St. John Paul II
